Germany's Thomas Muller retires from international football

Germany's veteran attacker Thomas Muller announced his retirement from international football on Monday.
"Fourteen years ago when I started my first international match in the German national team over 14 years ago I would never have dreamed of all this let great victories and bitter ones," the 34-year-old said in a farewell YouTube video. "After 131 international matches and 45 goals I say goodbye to the German eagles today."
Muller bagged the 2014 FIFA World Cup with Germany, in which he contributed with 45 goals and 41 assists in 131 national appearances. He became the top scorer of the 2010 World Cup with five goals.
Muller also clinched two UEFA Champions League, two FIFA Club World Cup and 12 German Bundesliga trophies with his boyhood club Bayern Munich.
