Havana, March 29 (RHC)-- Funeral honors of Reserve Brigadier General Rafael Moracen Limonta took place this Monday at the Colon Cemetery in the Cuban capital.

Floral offerings from Army General Raul Castro Ruz, leader of the Cuban Revolution, and President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, accompanied the urn with his ashes.

On Twitter, Diaz-Canel described the deceased as a "Hero of Cuba and of sister nations, where the courage and ethics of Cuban internationalists grew along with his legend.

At the Veterans' Pantheon of that cemetery, the member of the Political Bureau of the Party, Army Corps General Alvaro Lopez Miera, Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, FAR deputy ministers, as well as relatives and friends, paid guard of honor before his remains.

Brigadier General Alcibiades Pérez Rivero, head of the Directorate of the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, said that Rafael Moracén Limonta is an example of modesty and boundless dedication to his profession.

His ashes will be transferred to the Mausoleum of the Third Front in the province of Santiago de Cuba, at a later date.
