The Central Unit of Medical Cooperation of Cuba announced via its Facebook profile that international flights to and from the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela have been restored. This has allowed for the resumption of travel for Cuban Health collaborators back to the island for vacation and mission completion.
During the last months of 2025, difficulties with air transportation and the closure of airspace over Venezuela caused delays in the transfer of Cuban professionals, as specified by the entity in an official note.
The head of the medical mission, Dr. Yuleyvis Martínez Carmona, recently declared to Cuban TV that all collaborators remain safe following the attacks that occurred in the early hours of Saturday, January 3rd, against several zones in Venezuela.
Martínez Carmona assured that the Comprehensive Diagnostic Centers, Comprehensive Rehabilitation Rooms, and popular medical offices were not damaged, so healthcare provision remains guaranteed in the states of Miranda, La Guaira, the Capital District, and Aragua.
The brigade strictly complied with established security protocols, which allowed for the preservation of the professionals' integrity and ensured the continuity of medical services.
Authorities from Cuba's Ministry of Public Health held direct exchanges with the collaborators in Venezuela, helping to lift morale and guarantee confidence in the fulfillment of the mission.
The Cuban medical brigade, present in all 24 states of the South American country, reaffirmed its commitment to continue supporting the Venezuelan people in public health tasks.
The resumption of travel for Cuban collaborators enables reunions with their families, ensures the organized closure of missions, and facilitates the preparation of new rotations in different areas, with the aim of maintaining support for the Bolivarian nation.
