Cuban President  Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez insisted on the need that when international travelers arrive home, they should maintain physical isolation, use face masks, and adopt the established hygiene measures.

There can be no party, nor can there be visits until it is confirmed that the second PCR  is also negative; nor can family members of the newly arrived can go to work or school,  the Head of State stressed.

Addressing on Tuesday the Temporary Working Group for the Prevention and Control of the New Coronavirus, the President urged citizens to file a complaint when they witness a violation so that infractors receive the established fine for the spread of the epidemic and failure to comply with the measures.

"This is everybody's business," he said.

Diaz-Canel added that there has to be strict control by the family doctor of people arriving and making surprise visits to see if they comply with the measures. Averting a complication of the new normality depends to a great extent on family responsibility, he stressed.

At the end of a new week of confrontation with the COVID-19 in Cuba,  there was a decrease of indigenous cases by 33.4% and an increase of 75% of imported cases.

The Minister of Public Health, Jose Angel Portal Miranda, explained that of the 677 local cases diagnosed in November, 101 (14.9%) have an international traveler as a source of infection.

In provinces such as Matanzas, Cienfuegos, Las Tunas, and Holguín, he illustrated, all the people who have tested positive are imported cases contacts; while in Camagüey, it has been  90%, in Villa Clara 83%, in Havana 75% and Santiago de Cuba 68%.

The current month's trend, he specified, continues to increase imported cases in the national territory.  As of November 21,  234 travelers had tested positive for COVID-19.
