Ecuadorian solidarity organizations launch support campaign

The Ecuadorian Coordinator of Friendship and Solidarity with Cuba is promoting a campaign to support Cuba after the recent hurricanes and earthquakes that affected Cuba, in addition to the blockade imposed by the United States.
The executive secretary of the Coordinator, Fanny Santos, told Prensa Latina that this is a way in which the Ecuadorian people can repay the support received from Cuba over the years, despite difficult conditions.
Santos explained that the campaign includes the collection of funds and non-perishable foods, such as tuna, corn flour and powdered milk.
This friend of Cuba, who studied in Cuba thanks to a scholarship in the late 1980s, believes that the collection will be just a small contribution compared to what Cuba has done for her country, including medical courses for so many Ecuadorians.
The collection will run until January 31st, 2025, and to publicize the initiative, brigades of volunteers will travel to squares, educational centers and workplaces with urns and flags of Ecuador and Cuba, Santos said, adding that the financial contributions will be deposited in a specific bank account, the number of which will be announced in the coming days.
In this context, charitable organizations from various parts of the world are coordinating the collection of humanitarian aid to support the recovery efforts carried out by Cuba amid the intensification of the United States economic blockade.
