From East to West: Contemporary Dance of Cuba tours Russia
especiales
From Asia to Europe; from Vladivostok, in the Far East, to Moscow, the capital of Russia. This will be the tour of Contemporary Dance of Cuba through the largest country in the world.
The commitment is to participate in two important cultural events: the Sixteenth edition of the International Pacific Theater Festival, in Vladivostok; and the Chekhov International Theater Festival, in Moscow.
For both cities, one of the company's most applauded shows in recent years has been chosen, Carmina Burana, in George Céspedes' choreographic version of Carl Orff's famous score.
The group's debut in Vladivostok is today, September 21, at the Marinsky Theater, with the accompaniment of the Symphony Orchestra of that city. Another performance will be offered there on the 22nd, to which a talk with Cuban artists will be added.
Three performances are scheduled in Moscow: September 26, 27, and 28.
Danza Contemporánea de Cuba is the mother company of the thriving Cuban modern dance movement. And now she will once again be an ambassador of Cuban culture in one of the nations that have contributed the most to the universal legacy of that demonstration.
