Washington, Nov 16 (Prensa Latina) Des Moines native Doug Jensen, easily spotted in picytures from the Capitol riot thanks to the ¨Q¨ t-shirt he wore that day -an homage to the conspiracist movement Qanon- and who harassed a police officer during the Jan. 6 insurrection, was sentenced to 60-month imprisonment, 36 months supervised release and ,000 of restitution Friday.
The sentence follows a guilty plea to several charges handed down in September, which include assault and resisting a law enforcement officer, obstructing an official proceeding, as well as entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds bearing a dangerous weapon.
Prosecutors said Jensen illegally barged in the Capitol on Jan. 6 carrying a three-inch blade knife in his pocket.
Jensen encountered Officer Eugene Goodman and brushed aside his repeated orders to retreat and leave the infrastructure.
40 minutes later, Jensen was escorted out of the Capitol, but then he returned and shoved D.C. Metropolitan Police Department officers, who were seeking to bring order to the hostile scenario.
