Diaz-Canel called for popular welfare in every Cuban program

Havana, Feb 21 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel on Monday insisted that every government program should have the people's welfare as its main objective.

On his Twitter account, the president stated that the community should be the main scenario where the results of these projects are expressed, and emphasized the importance of accompanying their materialization politically.

Diaz-Canel shared an article from Granma newspaper about the recent meeting he presided over along with the top leaders of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC).

According to the PCC’s Twitter account, the meeting analyzed the care provided to neighborhoods and communities, a process to which the Party’s Balance Assemblies and comprehensive visits to the territories have contributed.

The first secretaries of the PCC Provincial Committees participated in the meeting, where they also addressed the political attention to the cultural sector, food production, the sugar harvest, non-state economic stakeholders and the measures to deal with inflation.
