Daylight saving time will be in effect in Cuba as of March 13

Havana, March 12 (RHC)--As of this Sunday, March 13, daylight saving time will come into effect in Cuba, which means that at 12:00 p.m., the clocks on the island will be set forward one hour.

This time change strategy is an international practice that significantly impacts energy savings, said the Ministry of Energy and Mines, which called on the population to use only the necessary electricity.

According to experts, this measure also contributes to reducing electricity tariffs for the benefit of consumers.

Its application allows a significant reduction of the maximum peak hour demand, as cooking food does not coincide to a great extent with lighting.
