Cubans remember on Wednesday the 66th anniversary of the entry into Havana of the Rebel Army's "Freedom Caravan," led by Fidel Castro, after the revolutionary victory on January 1, 1959.

The Guerilla leader’s entre in Havana will be recalled this morning at several sites in this capital where the caravan stopped on that date, after more than a thousand kilometers of journey.

Local authorities informed that the re-enactment of the historic event will begin in the factory complexes in Cotorro municipality, after which a wreath will be laid in front of the Granma yacht at the Museum of the Revolution in Old Havana.

In the afternoon, the “caravan members” will travel along 23rd Street in Havana’s Vedado neighborhood until they arrive at the Ciudad Escolar Libertad (Liberty School City), a school complex in Marianao municipality, where the central activity will be held.

The re-enactment of this heroic deed started on January 2 in Santiago de Cuba, led by outstanding young people, and protagonists of the historic event.
