Lisbon, Feb 8 (Prensa Latina) Cubans living in Portugal on Monday denounced the US blockade against their country, and demanded the removal of Cuba from a list of countries sponsoring terrorism drawn up by the Trump administration (2017-2021).

In a joint statement, three organizations that gather Cubans established in Portugal condemned the aggressions promoted from Washington against the Caribbean State during six decades, and demanded the end of the defamatory campaigns boosted by the White House.

'We are talking about the cruelest and longest blockade in history, the most prolonged and comprehensive economic, commercial and financial blockade against any country. The United States continues to pursue, as it did 60 years ago, the end of socialism in Cuba,' the text refers.

The document, signed by the Association of Cubans Resident in Portugal, the Yoruba Cultural Association of Cuba F and 'the Originarios' (the native ones), condemns 'that obsolete and failed policy of cold war' and recognizes Cuba's efforts to overcome the obstacles imposed.

Meanwhile, it points out that the arrival to the US presidency of Joe Biden 'could be favorable to the claim of many Americans and nations in the world that demand respect for international law and the elimination of the violent unilateral measures against Cuba.'
