The book "The Caravan of Freedom", by renowned Cuban journalists Luis Báez and Pedro de la Hoz, will be presented at the usual Saturday of the Book in this capital.

As every week in Old Havana, on La Calle Madera Street, the popular site dedicated to literature finds interesting dialogues. This time with a text that collects in an integral way the itinerary of the rebel troop led by Fidel Castro in the first days of 1959.

In 256 pages, the authors narrated the journey, with photos and interviews with the Revolution Commanders Juan Almeida Bosque and Guillermo García Frias. Báez (1936-2015) said piecing together the story was the first challenge. De la Hoz (1953-2024) expressed that Journalistic archaeology had to be carried out to reconstruct the facts.

The second challenge was organizing the images taken from the archives of the Office of Historical Affairs of the Council of State and the magazines Bohemia and Verde Olivo; the third great difficulty was pinpointing the times of each recorded event, the authors explained.
