The 8th Meeting of Cubans Residing in Chile agreed to continue fighting against the unjust and hostile U.S. blockade and sending donations to Cuba in order to compensate damages of such an inhumane policy.

The final declaration of the event, held this weekend, condemns the blockade imposed by Washington for over 60 years and aimed at causing shortages and discrediting the social, economic and cultural projects of the Cuban Revolution.

Speaking at the meeting, Tania Tellería, president of the Raíces Cubanas Cultural Association of Cubans Residing in Chile, referred to some initiatives promoted in the South American nation to support Cuba, citing as examples all donations sent for primary healthcare centers and hospitals.

She recalled that a solidarity campaign is being conducted right now to send supplies and food to Cuba.
