Havana, Nov 17 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel today congratulated the country's students and invited them to make the most of their time in the classroom, on the occasion of International Students' Day.

“There hides the treasure of knowledge, conscience and possible dreams. I am a happy eternal student,” he added through his Twitter account.

Previously, the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) highlighted the contribution of the country’s students to confront and control Covid-19.

Through its official newspaper Granma, the political organization praised and thanked the work of students who joined isolation centers, hospitals and active health research during the most difficult moments of the pandemic.

During a recent exchange with students, Diaz-Canel learned about the main satisfactions and concerns of students who joined health centers or participated in the care of vulnerable families.

Most of the students in Cuba are now are back to school, process that was carried out step by step and that ended last Monday.

Every November 17, International Students’ Day is celebrated in several countries in remembrance of a group of young Czechoslovakians who confronted facism in their homeland and staged a heroic resistance in 1939 in the streets of Prague, the capital of that country.
