Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel recalled the altruism and validity of Ernesto Che Guevara's revolutionary thought, marking the 57th anniversary of his capture and subsequent assassination in Bolivia.

“When he fell in Bolivia, Che Guevara was 39 years old and an infinite willingness to fight for human emancipation that, 57 years later, he continues to wage as a permanent inspiration for all those who fight,” the president said in his account on X.

In another message on social media, the head of State shared a phrase of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, pronounced at the main event for the 20th anniversary of the death in combat of Commander Guevara, on October 8, 1987:

“If we need a paradigm, if we need a model, if we need an example to imitate to reach these lofty goals, we need men like Che, men and women who imitate him, who are like him, who think like him.” Through the digital platform, authorities of the Caribbean nation recalled Che Guevara’s revolutionary legacy and called him an example for all generations.

Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez stressed that, true to his convictions, Guevara fought for a better world against colonialist and imperialist atrocities in various parts of the planet.

“Che lives in each of the Cuban revolutionaries and in the world,” he said on X.
