Ciego de Avila, Cuba, March 25 (RHC)-- The first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), Miguel Díaz-Canel, called for creative resistance to overcome the obstacles that seek to fracture the unity of the Revolution.
During an address this Friday at the provincial assembly of the Party in Ciego de Avila, the President put the national situation in context, from the intensification of the hostile policy of the United States towards the island, which includes pressure on countries that maintain relations with Cuba.
"We must continue defending the link between the Party and the grassroots. The first thing to plan is to engage with the people," insisted Díaz-Canel, before the 150 delegates from Avila to the party meeting.
The first secretary of the Communist Party and head of state chaired this Friday the stock-taking conference of the political organization in the province, which was the sixth territorial meeting of the Party to be held in the country, with the attendance also of members of the Political Bureau and the secretary and other leaders.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of Organization of the PCC, Roberto Morales, pointed out that nothing is alien to the Party and it must, from the exemplarity, transform the problems that today hurt the social development; the nuclei cannot be disconnected from the current issues of the Cuban society, he said.
Morales called to concentrate efforts in the economic and ideological battles, but for this, it is necessary to strengthen the internal life of the organization, he emphasized.
"It is necessary to improve the work of the media, which does not always depend on the media themselves, but also on the administrative staff that limits immediacy, it is necessary to carry out journalism from a professional point of view, with research and applying science," he reflected.
He added that the two significant challenges emanated from the 8th Congress are the ideological and economic battles, so the best political-ideological work is to do things well.
Liván Izquierdo was elected as the first secretary of the Party in Ciego de Ávila, while Carlos Luis Garrido was recognized for his work in this responsibility.
