Cuban President Arrives in Municipality of Mayarí

Miguel Díaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, arrived today in the Holguín municipality of Mayarí.

The Presidency reported on its X account that this is the fifth visit by the leader to the eastern region since the passage of Hurricane Melissa. The storm made landfall in the eastern part of the country as a Category 3 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson scale, which has a maximum of five, on October 29.

Mayarí was one of the territories severely affected by the rains, winds, and flooding caused by the tropical cyclone.
