Havana, Jul 29 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero on Friday called to improve anti-vector actions and assume all hygienic-sanitary measures to control dengue in the country.

On his Twitter account, he noted that the battle against Covid-19 should be taken as an example at this time.

At a recent meeting of Cuba’s highest leadership with experts and scientists to analyze health issues, and the Government’s temporary working group for the prevention and control of the new coronavirus, they praised community participation to prevent the proliferation of the Aedes aegypti mosquito, which causes dengue and other diseases.

During the session, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel noted the need to guarantee the quality of home admission, and, above all, to develope prevention work that anticipates the appearance of cases.

The experts agreed that in order to prevent and control dengue, controls in the workplaces are essential, because this is a battle that belongs to everyone and individual’s self-responsibility is essential, according to the website of the Presidency of Cuba.

“If we don’t win the fight against the mosquito, we are not going to contain dengue transmission,” Public Health Minister Jose Angel Portal said at the meeting.
