Cuban para-athletes train in Spain on their route to Paris 2024

Cuban para-athletes who will compete in Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, to be held August 28-September 8, are training in Pamplona, Spain.
For Cuba, since July 27, 21 para-athletes and a guide have been preparing in that Spanish city in eight disciplines.
As it is traditional, parathletics will have the largest number of competitors with nine classified, led by the stellar sprinter Omara Durand and the long jumper Robiel Yankiel Sol Cervantes, who will be the standard bearers of the Caribbean delegation.
Durand, owner of 14 gold medals in universal competitions in the T12 category (profound visual impairment), in the 100, 200 and 400 meters (m), and owner of eight Paralympic titles, will be looking to add to her legend in what will be her farewell to the track.
Sol Cervantes will also be looking to repeat the crown in the T47 long jump, an event in which she is a world record holder, in addition to being a two-time gold medalist in world competitions.
This training base will be extended until August 21, when the members of the Cuban delegation will travel to Paris, venue of the Games, and will settle in the Paralympic Village.
