Tokyo, Apr 13 (Prensa Latina) Cuban outfielder Leonys Martin stood out on Tuesday in the success of his team the Lotte Marinos, 6-2 against the Rakuten Eagles, by connecting a hit in three innings and scoring two runs.
Martin raised his offensive average to 263 in a game in which he picked up two walks, as did Yurisbel Gracial, also from Cuba, who struck out twice as the SoftBank Falcons fell to the Orix Buffaloes, 7-4.
His Cuban fellow Alfredo Despaigne also had an unlucky day, missing a pair of chances, picking up two walks and dropping his batting average to 205.
