A group of relevant hotels in Cuba were nominated for the World Travel Awards for tourism to highlight the quality of services in the country's accommodation facilities, according to an official statement.

The report of the Melia Cuba hotel chain, distributed here on Tuesday, added that a new edition of the famous World Travel Awards will take place on August 26, to acknowledge and reward the most outstanding tourist entities at the international level.

Among the nominated establishments in Cuba are six hotels run by Melia Cuba in city and beach destinations.

Nominated to be crowned as Cuba’s Leading Hotel are Melia Cohiba, a few steps away from Havana’s Malecon drive, and Melia Cayo Coco, a charming adults-only All-Inclusive establishment in the Jardines del Rey.

Likewise, the Master Suite The Level at the Melia Cohiba could be the winner in Cuba’s Leading Suite category.

The following resorts were nominated as Cuba’s Leading Resort: Paradisus Río de Oro (Holguin), Paradisus Varadero and Paradisus Princesa del Mar (Varadero), and Melia Las Dunas (Cayo Santa Maria).
