Havana, April 29 (RHC)-- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez is chairing the delegation participating this Friday in virtual format's 27th Ordinary Meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS).

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the gathering, the nation will reaffirm its willingness to decisively support common efforts that favor the sustainable development of the subregion.

The meeting, to be held under the presidency of Mexico, seeks to adopt a Plan of Action for the 2022-2028 six-year period to establish priorities and coordinate the confrontation of current challenges, such as the situations derived from the Covid-19 pandemic and the effects on the economies.

On Thursday, a preparatory exchange took place for the 27th Ordinary Meeting, in which the Cuban side advocated the promotion of trade links in the area.

Those present took the opportunity to invite ACS member and associate States to the 17th ExpoCaribe 2022 International Fair, scheduled for June 23-26 in the eastern province of Santiago de Cuba.

As a continuation of Havana's ties with the ACS, the visit of its Secretary-General, Rodolfo Sabonge, is scheduled for May 1-7 to meet with different authorities.

Last February, during an exchange in Havana with Sabonge, Rodriguez ratified Cuba's commitment to cooperate with all the organization's tasks.

Likewise, he stressed the willingness to enhance dialogue and collaboration with the area's nations.
