Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez condemned the blockade imposed by the United States, with quantifiable damage in its six decades of application of over one trillion 326 billion 432 million dollars.

As the Minister of Foreign Affairs specified on his Twitter account, the economic, commercial and financial siege has a real and devastating impact on Cuban families.

Similarly, he repudiated that Washington’s hostile policy was opportunistically intensified during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Faced with this context, “Cuba resists and advances with creativity and unity,” stressed the head of diplomacy.

According to authorities, the imposition of the blockade constitutes an essential tool of the United States’ policy against the island, in order to destroy the Revolution.

The signing of then President John F. Kennedy on Executive Order 3447 formalized, on February 3, 1962, Washington’s siege against Havana, persistent until today and considered the main obstacle to the development of the Caribbean nation.

This coercive measure, the longest in history against any country, was reinforced during Donald Trump’s term (2017-2021) with 243 provisions in force even with his Democratic successor, Joe Biden.
