Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla on Monday thanked in this capital the members of the solidarity movement, resident nationals, and graduates from the Caribbean island for their permanent support to Cuba.

“I exchanged with Cuban residents, Nigerian graduates in Cuba, and friends of solidarity in Nigeria about issues of the Cuban reality and the international context. I thanked them for their support, effort, and permanent solidarity with our country,” Rodriguez Parrilla wrote in X.

At the meeting, the Cuban foreign minister highlighted the permanent support of the Nigerian solidarity movement to the struggle of the Cuban people for the abolition of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States, the Havana Embassy in Abuja reported.

The diplomat also acknowledged the steadfast position for Cuba’s exclusion from Washington’s State Sponsors of Terrorism (SSOT) list and the fundamental role in promoting twinning between the two peoples.

In his dialogue with Cuban residents in this nation, he updated them on the island’s current situation through economic challenges, the impact of the blockade, and new opportunities for growth and development.

Rodriguez explained the recent measures implemented by the Cuban government that allow greater participation of Cuban nationals living abroad in the national economy, and the willingness to continue strengthening ties with that community living outside the country.
