Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez today denounced the hypocrisy of anti-Cuba politicians in the United States who call for student strikes in Cuba while remaining silent about Harvard University's suspension of foreign student admissions.

In a post on X, Rodríguez stated: "The suspension of foreign student admissions at Harvard is part of the U.S. government's harsh crackdown against those opposing its human rights-violating policies targeting students, migrants, and minorities."

The top diplomat emphasized that while these anti-Cuba politicians support such repressive measures, they hypocritically advocate for student protests in Cuba.

Rodríguez also condemned on social media the ongoing wave of repression against migrants and journalists across multiple U.S. cities, noting the conspicuous absence of public condemnation from Cuban-American politicians.

For several days, thousands have taken to U.S. streets to protest the immigration policies of Republican Donald Trump's administration, which has deployed National Guard and Marine units to suppress demonstrations.

"The same voices demanding unrest in Cuba cheer when U.S. authorities violently dismantle peaceful protests at home," Rodríguez added, highlighting what he described as a double standard in Washington's human rights rhetoric.

The statement comes amid heightened tensions between Cuba and hardline elements in the U.S. political establishment, particularly in Florida, where some lawmakers have recently amplified calls for regime change in Havana.
