Cuban and U.S. specialists to discuss recovery program in Matanzas

Havana, Aug 26 (Prensa Latina) Cuban and U.S. specialists exchanged insights on cleanup and environmental rehabilitation works in connection with the death-dealing fire that popped up in the western city of Matanzas, the Cuban Foreign Ministry (MINREX) reported on Friday.

According to MINREX, the virtual talks, regarded as professional and profitable, involved Cuban experts working on the accident area at the Matanzas Supertanker Base, and U.S. specialists from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Both sides discussed possible avenues of cooperation for restoring most affected areas.

The Cuban delegation, made up of specialists from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA), informed their American counterpart on the actions taken for their assessment.
