Havana, March 2 (RHC)-- At the end of a visit to Cuba on Wednesday by an official delegation from the People's Republic of Angola, it was reported that the governments of both countries are preparing a commission for cooperation at that level.Ricardo Cabrisdas

The Minister of State and Head of the Civil House of the President of the African country, Adao Francisco Correia de Almeida, together with Cuban Deputy Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas, signed the act that summarizes the trip, during which the distinguished visitor was received by President Miguel Diaz-Canel.

At the ceremony, the Caribbean nation's Foreign Trade and Investment Minister Rodrigo Malmierca recalled that the African delegation visited different institutions and held work exchanges "that allows us to affirm that we have good opportunities to strengthen collaboration."

"We are working to strengthen the historic ties of friendship between the two countries and peoples, and we believe that there is a magnificent potential to continue developing relations in the economic field, in sectors such as health, education, energy, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology, among others," he said.

"We also talked about the possibility of further promoting trade and even joint investments, both in Cuba and Angola. So it only remains to continue working systematically to prepare the intergovernmental cooperation commission", which will probably take place by the end of the year, Malmierca added.

The official ceremony also included the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Angolan Foreign Investment and Export Promotion Agency, Aipex, and its counterpart on the island, ProCuba.

The agreement was signed by the ambassador of the African country, María Cándida Pereira, and the director of ProCuba, Roberto Verrier
