Cuban ambassador to Iran denounces Israel’s impunity

The Cuban ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran, Alberto González Casals, denounced the unpunished actions of Israel in complicity with the United States in an interview published by PressTV.
“The Israeli regime acts with impunity with the complicity of the United States. Every moment of impunity of action, passivity, double standards or silence will cost more innocent lives in the besieged Gaza Strip,” the ambassador stressed.
González Casals urged an immediate ceasefire to put an end to war rhetoric, and emphasized the need to pressure Washington, so that it does not continue to paralyze the UN Security Council with the use of undemocratic power and obsolete veto to protect its ally, Israel.
“The tenth emergency special session of the UN General Assembly must be held to end Israeli aggression in Gaza, and its top priority must be to achieve a cessation of violence, a ceasefire and promote the provision of aid urgent and sufficient to the Palestinian people,” he said.
Regarding the aid that entered the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing last Saturday morning, he stated that only 20 trucks are an “insult to those in need” and that “emergency humanitarian aid must be urgently mobilized under the coordination of the UN to address the catastrophic situation in Gaza.”
The ambassador assured that Cuba “will support and contribute in everything within its power to legitimize international efforts to put an end to the current situation.”
