Cuba thanks solidarity following power grid contingency

In a post on X, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla thanked the countries that expressed their solidarity in the face of the island’s electrical power grid contingency, as well as those who condemn the U.S. blockade on Cuba, describing it as “the main cause of the limitations and damages suffered by our people.”
In a previous message, Rodríguez Parrilla denounced that 18 days of economic, commercial and financial siege are equivalent to the annual cost of maintaining the national power grid which, he stressed, has suffered losses amounting to USD 250 million, without including expenses in terms of fuel and investments, as a result of the said U.S. Cuba policy.
“Lift the blockade and there will be blackouts; that’s how the U.S. government can help the Cuban people..., if it wanted to,” he remarked in the text.
He also praised the efforts deployed by staff and workers of the Cuban power system for rising to the occasion and doing their outmost to restore the service as soon as possible.
