Cuba reports 107 new Covid-19 cases and no deaths

Havana, Aug 1 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) on Monday reported 107 new Covid-19 cases and no deaths due to complications related to the disease in the last 24 hours.

According to the daily report from MINSAP, all molecular biology laboratories in Cuba performed 2,388 PCR tests in real time on Sunday to detect the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

Of 447 active cases reported nationwide, 440 are clinically stable, while seven patients are being treated in intensive care units, one is in a critical condition and six who are seriously ill.

At a press briefing on television, MINSAP added that 106 patients were discharged after recovering from the disease, so the total number of recovered patients rose to 1,099,166 (99.2 percent of all cases).

So far, Cuba has accumulated 1,108,201 contagions since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country in March 2020.

According to the official report, the death toll remains at 8,529.
