Cuba receives Venezuelan donation

A Venezuelan ship carrying 300 tons of medical supplies and construction materials arrived Sunday in this city, which Orlando Miguel Maneiro Gaspar, ambassador of the South American country to Cuba, described as an act of solidarity with the victims of recent destructive weather events in the eastern and western provinces of the island and conveyed a fraternal message from President Nicolás Maduro and his government to the Cuban citizens..

“This gesture is the greatest expression of humanity and brotherhood that characterizes both peoples who, along with their leaders, are always ready to lend a hand in order to overcome any adversity together”, said the diplomat.

Beatriz Johnson, first secretary of the Communist Party in the province, referred to this aid as a sign that Cuba is not alone and thanked Venezuela’s contribution on behalf of her people.
