Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, paid tribute today in Caracas to the Venezuelan and Cuban combatants who fell defending Venezuela during the military aggression perpetrated by the United States.

"I came from Cuba to pay an emotional tribute to the Venezuelan combatants who fell in battle defending the Bolivarian and Chavista Revolution and the sacred Venezuelan homeland; to express an emotional tribute to the Cuban combatants who, in an uneven fight, confronted the imperialist enemy that profaned the sovereignty of the Venezuelan homeland," he stated.

During the ceremony at the Eclectic Monument of the Bolivarian National Guard Military Academy, the Cuban foreign minister reaffirmed, on behalf of Army General Raúl Castro Ruz and the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and Cuban President, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, Cuba's solidarity with the people of the Latin American country.

In his remarks, Rodríguez Parrilla emphasized the current commitment to the revolutionary legacy of Chávez and Fidel, in the year of the centenary of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution.

"The Bolivarian and Chavista Revolution and the Cuban Revolution, in their common destiny and struggle, will be an example for the liberation of the peoples of our America," he affirmed.

Finally, the head of Cuban Diplomacy assured that "we will continue with our work in defense of peace, in international mobilization, in the campaign in defense of International Law and for the liberation of the constitutional president, Nicolás Maduro, and his wife, Cilia Flores."
