A delegation from Cuba, headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Anayansi Rodriguez, will participate in the international conference on the impact of unilateral coercive measures on the enjoyment of human rights, the Foreign Ministry informed on Wednesday.

The meeting, which will take place in Geneva, Switzerland, was convened by the Special Rapporteur of the Human Rights Council and organized jointly with the Group of Friends in Defense of the United Nations Charter.

According to the Cuban Foreign Ministry, the event will be an opportunity to denounce the illegality and negative impact of the implementation of the most comprehensive and prolonged system of unilateral coercive measures in history: the United States blockade against Cuba.

The Cuban delegation also includes Ambassador Juan Antonio Quintanilla, Cuba’s permanent representative at the United Nations Office in Geneva and other international organizations based in Switzerland, as well as other officials from the Foreign Ministry and the Cuban Permanent Mission in that multilateral organization.

As part of her agenda, the deputy foreign minister will meet with foreign delegations, members of the solidarity movement and Cuban residents in Switzerland.
