Cuba, EU condemn US economic blockade impact

Participants recognized particularly the unprecedented tightening of the US policy amid the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic and its drawbacks for the prevention, treatment and development of vaccines, the statement added.
The Cuban delegation thanked the EU support for the resolution calling for the end of the US blockade, the condemnation of Titles III and IV of the Helms-Burton Act as well as Cuba´s inclusion on the list of state sponsors of terrorism.
According to the press release, the exchange of existing regulations in the EU and its member states was critical to counteract extraterritorial dimension of these measures against Cuba.
Both parties discussed EU´s Regulation 2271/96 and other initiatives against the extraterritorial Helms-Burton Act.
Representatives ratified their will to hold a dialogue on the basis of full respect for sovereign equality, independence, legality and non-interference in internal affairs of the states.
