Cuba Denies False Attribution to Díaz-Canel by U.S. Media

The Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) today denied a publication by the digital media outlet Wall Street Wolverine that inaccurately attributes a statement to the organization's First Secretary and President Miguel Díaz-Canel.
The PCC clarified on the social media platform X that the published material includes a video fragment whose actual content does not match what was expressed by the President.
The Cuban head of state's words, spoken in a call to reinforce the Party's internal responsibility, were taken out of context.
The original text by Díaz-Canel, shared by the PCC, emphasizes: "And we must start to change from within the Party."
"We must ensure that our members and grassroots organizations feel responsible for everything that malfunctions and for all failures to meet objectives, and that from now on, every time there is a problem to solve, every time there is an obstacle to break, we say in the grassroots organizations what we are doing about it," said Díaz-Canel.
The Presidency of the Republic also joined the Communist Party's denial, clarifying that it is a fallacious attribution that deliberately distorts the President's words.
