Havana, Jul 3 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban Foreign Ministry on Sunday congratulated the people and Government of Belarus on the occasion of their National Holiday.

On its Twitter account, Cuba’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent a congratulatory message and reiterated the will to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation between the two nations.

Belarus celebrates the 78th anniversary of the country’s liberation from German fascism on July 3, a military confrontation during World War II (1939-1945), when hundreds of thousands of citizens from the former Soviet Union lost their lives.

Havana and Minsk established diplomatic ties on April 16, 1992, and are currently experiencing a period of revitalization.

In statements to Prensa Latina, Belarusian Ambassador to Cuba Valery Baranovsky pointed out that the two nations have strengthened political collaboration and are working to identifying new spheres for cooperation.
