Cuba commemorates anniversary of diplomatic relations with Belgium

Havana, Aug 18 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban Foreign Ministry commemorated the 120th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with Belgium.

Through its Twitter account, the Cuban Foreign Ministry ratified that ties with the European nation are based on respect and the mutual desire to continue deepening them.

Belgium’s ambassador to Cuba, Jean Jacques Bastien, has told the press that both nations maintain favorable relations at the diplomatic, cultural and academic levels.

Last June, Belgium made a donation of articulated and rigid buses to benefit the public passenger transportation service of the Cuban capital and other organizations.

Brussels supports the Cuban resolution before the United Nations for the elimination of the economic, political and commercial blockade imposed by the United States more than 60 years ago.
