The President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, reaffirmed his support for the denunciation issued by the government of Venezuela following the assault on one of its oil tankers.

"This constitutes an act of piracy, in violation of International Law, and an escalation in the aggression against this brother nation," expressed the leader on the social media platform X.

The Bolivarian nation denounced "the brazen theft and act of international piracy" represented by the assault and seizure of a Venezuelan oil tanker in the Caribbean Sea.

This new and extremely serious step in the escalation of aggressions takes place following the announcement of the U.S. National Security Strategy, which seeks to revive, 200 years later, the abominable Monroe Doctrine.

The Bolivarian statement added that once again, "the true objective of the imperial offensive has been exposed: the obsessive desire to appropriate its natural resources," and affirmed that this is "a demonstration of everything the empire is willing to do to impose its agenda and interests against our peoples."
