Manuel Marrero Cruz, Cuban Prime Minister, said today that his country and Equatorial Guinea are in a better position to move to a stage of further strengthening and expansion of economic and trade relations, in sectors of mutual interest.

This was revealed in a meeting with Salomon Nguema Owono, President of the Equatorial Guinean Chamber of Deputies, during the last day of the Cuban premier's official visit to the African nation, at the head of a large delegation from the island.
As reported on X by the Government of Cuba, Marrero Cruz also stressed the need to strengthen inter-parliamentary ties.

For his part, Salomon Nguema condemned the injustice perpetrated by the U.S. government against Cuba, with a blockade that has been in place for more than six decades.

On Monday, both nations signed two agreements, which include an update of the Framework Cooperation Agreement between Cuba and Equatorial Guinea, and a protocol for the implementation of the Binational Working Group between the respective ministries of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, and Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Diaspora.

On that day, the Cuban PM also held official talks with his counterpart and both ratified the willingness to raise economic, trade and cooperation relations to the same level as political ones.
