Cuba and Chile advocate strengthening relations

Havana, January 13 (RHC) Gerardo Peñalver Portal, Cuba's acting foreign minister, and Ximena Fuentes Torrijos, Chile's undersecretary of foreign relations advocate strengthening relations between the two nations both politically and in terms of trade and economic ties.

At the meeting held the day before at the Foreign Ministry headquarters, both officials highlighted the historical and cultural ties that unite the two nations and expressed their willingness to boost bilateral relations.

Both diplomats exchanged views on the regional situation and the results of the VI Meeting of the Mechanism of Political Consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Chile and Cuba, in which Ximena Fuentes headed her country's delegation. (Source: PL)
