Concert in Havana to Reaffirm Solidarity with Venezuela
especiales

Casa de las Américas has announced a solidarity concert for tomorrow, October 1, at 4:00 p.m., in support of the Bolivarian Revolution and the constitutional president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, according to Abel Prieto, president of the cultural institution, via his account on X.
Raúl Torres to Lead the Event
Singer-songwriter Raúl Torres will headline the gathering, joined by guest performers, in a program featuring pieces from his repertoire and songs dedicated to Latin American leaders. The concert aims to reaffirm support for Venezuela and express opposition to imperialist and fascist actions.
Torres, who also serves as a deputy in Cuba’s National Assembly of People’s Power, is the author of works such as “Candil de nieve,” “Se fue,” and “Nítida fe,” as well as historically themed compositions including “Cabalgando con Fidel,” “El regreso del amigo,” and “El último mambí.”
Venezuelan Government Response
The Bolivarian Government of Venezuela reiterated its commitment to defending national sovereignty and stability following President Maduro’s announcement of a consultation on a decree of external commotion. This constitutional mechanism serves as a preventive measure against external threats and grants authority to mobilize the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, safeguard strategic infrastructure, and activate security plans in the event of aggression.
In recent statements, the legitimately elected president Nicolás Maduro denounced the U.S. military buildup in the Caribbean and called for national unity and civic-military mobilization to guarantee independence and territorial integrity.
Complementary Cultural Activity
Casa de las Américas also reported that today, September 30, at 3:00 p.m., it will host the presentation of the book “Fidel and the Palestinian and Arab Cause,” by Raúl Rodríguez Ramos, with a foreword by Wafica Ibrahim, co-published with the Venezuelan publishing house El Perro y la Rana.
A Tradition of Solidarity
Tomorrow’s concert continues the institution’s tradition of hosting activities in support of Latin American and Caribbean causes, with significant impact in both the cultural and political spheres of the region.
