Communist Parties of Cuba and China Hold Seventh Theoretical Seminar
especiales

The Communist Parties of Cuba (PCC) and China (CPC) held the seventh theoretical seminar between the two organizations, focusing on practices and experiences in promoting socialist modernization through scientific development planning.
Strengthening Cooperation and Addressing Challenges
Gladys Martínez, a member of the Political Bureau and First Secretary of the Provincial Committee in Artemisa, highlighted the role of these exchanges as a mechanism for strengthening bilateral cooperation in building “a community with a shared future.”
Martínez noted that the meetings allow for addressing current challenges of socialism from a Marxist perspective and proposing concrete solutions. She recalled that the community with a shared future between China and Cuba is the first established by Beijing with a Latin American country. Furthermore, she affirmed that the alliance between the two countries reinforces the validity of socialism as a development model for both peoples.
Local Ties and Denunciation of U.S. Measures
Martínez emphasized that the achievements of the relationship between Artemisa and China’s Hunan Province demonstrate the strategic importance of ties between the communist parties. She denounced the unprecedented intensification of the U.S. economic, commercial, and financial blockade against Cuba, as well as Cuba’s arbitrary inclusion on the list of state sponsors of terrorism.
In this regard, she thanked Beijing for its constant condemnation of this siege and expressed the island’s gratitude for the support of the Chinese government and people in key sectors such as agri-food, energy, and cybersecurity. She stated that both parties constitute an example of solidarity and cooperation in building socialism.
Chinese Perspective on Planning and Exchange
For his part, Li Shulei, a member of the Political Bureau and Head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, stressed the importance of strengthening communication and exchanges to promote cooperative bilateral relations. He also highlighted the need to develop medium- and long-term plans aligned with socio-economic development strategies.
On this point, he explained China’s experience in formulating five-year plans, which, he said, are based on extensive scientific development planning.
Seminar Structure and Delegation Visit
Gladys Martínez is leading a party delegation to participate in this Seventh Theoretical Seminar, as part of the exchange of experiences and cooperation between the two political organizations. The seminar featured three panels titled Ideological Work, Economic Work, and Anti-Corruption Work, where participants addressed the main challenges in these areas.
The delegation began its tour in Hunan Province, and indeed, the collaboration between that province and Artemisa stands as a positive reference for local ties between Cuba and China, with concrete results in agriculture, trade, and economic development.
A Long-Standing Bilateral Relationship
The two nations celebrated 65 years of diplomatic relations last September, marked by multisectoral cooperation and deep mutual political trust.
