Beijing, Dec 21 (Prensa Latina) China has announced sanctions against four US officials in response to the ones applied by the United States on the same number of Chinese ones, based on their alleged implication on the Xnjiang "abuse".

Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China Zhao Linjian said that the measures will affect members of the US commission on International Religious Freedom, and includes the prohibition to enter mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau.

In addition, the assets in China of said individuals will be frozen.

Zhao called on Washington to revoke its sanctions, stop interfering in the issues related to Xinjiang or any other of China’s internal affairs.

The United States once again used the pretext of an alleged violation of human rights in the autonomous region of Xinjiang, home to the Uighur Muslim minority, and imposed sanctions on Chinese officials last week.

This issue was also used as pretext to boycott the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics, with Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia supporting it.
