China-Cuba Business Forum Addresses Projects for Mutual Benefit

Cuban and Chinese entrepreneurs and executives held a business forum Wednesday at Havana’s National Hotel as part of a program of visits by the China-Latin America Industrial Park.
The president of the Chinese initiative Qiaoming Huang explained that Cuban economy is currently ongoing deep transformation and the Industrial Park program will contribute to advance bilateral accords and strategies.
The vice-president of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce Tania Aguiar said that in the current complex scenario, Cuba needs to boost solid alliances and keep learning from Chinese experience.
Aguiar added that the forum allows developing projects for mutual benefit in sectors like construction, the light and the food industries, trade, tourism, culture, the steel industry and communication and information technologies.
The executive recalled statements by Presidents Miguel Diaz-Canel and Xi Jinping that relations between Cuba and China constitute an example of solidarity and cooperation among socialist and developing nations.
The forum was attended by entrepreneurial delegations from the Chinese provinces of Zhejiang, Hangzhou, Guangzhou and representatives of different Cuban entities.
China is considered a great allied of Cuba and has been the island’s second major commercial partner over the past 15 years.
