Beijing, Feb 10 (Prensa Latina) China and India today started to withdraw their troops deployed in a border area, in compliance with the consensus reached some days ago to reduce tensions over territorial disputes, the Ministry of Defense confirmed.

That Chinese ministry noted, in a brief statement, that this operation is being carried out in a simultaneous and organized way on the shores of Pangong Tso lake.

The text recalls that, this way, both countries are adopting an agreement which emerged in the ninth round of talks among commanders, held in late January.

This meeting was the last of several contacts of soldiers and diplomats held between China and India in order to control the situation in the border, where there were other skirmishes after the clashes on June 15.

The clash resulted in a reinforcement of soldiers with war equipment on each side, while authorities were seeking reconciliation and to preserve peace.

They were the worst military tensions in decades and, in that context, India banned the use of over 100 Chinese apps due to national security concerns and boycotted products made here.
