Washington, April 19 (RHC)-- The solidarity project Bridges of Love called Tuesday for a new caravan in the United States and other cities around the world to call for an end to the blockade against Cuba.  The caravan will take place next Sunday, April 24.

Cuban-American professor Carlos Lazo, leader of the initiative, shared on his Facebook account the call for the meeting that, as every month, will demand the U.S. government to lift the sanctions imposed to suffocate the island's economy and affect Cuban families.

According to the program, next Sunday's caravan in Miami will start at 18 Street & Biscayne Blvd. and then in cars will travel through nearby avenues with the message of rejection to the unilateral coercive measures applied by Washington.

During the day, they will advocate for the elimination of obstacles to the sending of remittances and family reunification, among other objectives.

Cubans and Americans friends of Cuba will once again urge President Joe Biden to fulfill his campaign promise to reverse the policy of his predecessor, Donald Trump regarding Cuba.

During his residency in the White House, The Donald adopted 243 restrictive measures against the Caribbean nation that the current head of the White House keeps in force, in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic and with a campaign to try to subvert the internal order on the Island, as denounced from Havana.

This behavior, in the opinion of activists, is not a surprise, because in the United States the policy towards Cuba in many aspects is directed by an influential sector of the most conservative Cuban-Americans in Miami.
