The Bolivian State on Friday supported the United Nations strategy for the vaccination against Covid-19, based on the principle of equitable distribution of the drug.

Bolivian Ambassador to the UN Diego Pary confirmed such information reiterating the need to strengthen cooperation as a requirement to defeat the Covid-19 disease.

'If the pandemic is not solved in all countries worldwide, the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus will continue because, in the end, our countries are dynamic, the population moves from one side to another,' the diplomat said, quoted by local media.

The UN deems that the best way to guarantee universal and equitable access to vaccines is to financially strengthen the Covax system, a global access fund for this type of medicine supported by over 150 countries, the World Health Organization, the International Vaccine Alliance and other specialized institutions.

'The UN Secretary General has justly called on all developed countries to make contributions so that all citizens worldwide may have access to a vaccine,' Pary indicated cited by the Bolivian Information Agency.

The official also referred to the efforts his country is making to fight against the disease, which according to the latest briefing of the health authorities was identified on Thursday in almost 2,000 Bolivians.
