The Belarus-Cuba parliamentary friendship group demanded the exclusion of Cuba from the US list of states sponsors of terrorism.

In statements to Prensa Latina, the Cuban ambassador in Minsk, Santiago Pérez, informed that the initiative was raised by deputy Vadim Guiguin, of the Belaya Rus Party, and member of the parliamentary group of friendship with Cuba.

The letter demanding that the US authorities exclude Cuba from the list was signed by 21 legislators from different political forces that make up the friendship group, Pérez said.

In this initiative, Guiguin pointed out that one cannot be indifferent to the fact that a nation like Cuba, which loves peace and is supportive, is included in this unjust instrument of political pressure.

Guiguin added that this is another way of violating international laws, and on a personal level, he noted that he has visited Cuba on numerous occasions and has confirmed the Cubans’ desire for peace.

In the deputy’s opinion, the list pursues the objective of pressuring a free and independent state to desist from maintaining its own policy, far from the interests of the imperialist forces of the United States.
