Beijing, Sep 26 (Prensa Latina) The 27th International Book Fair (BIBF 2020) opened on Saturday in Beijing, and Cuba is its guest of honor, on occasion of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The BIBF will take place until Wednesday, for the first time in history virtually, and more than 400,000 titles from 68 countries will be on display.

During the opening ceremony, Ambassador Carlos Miguel Pereira expressed gratutyde Cuba's designation as a guest of honor, and said that it demonstrates the deep ties of friendship between both socialist States, benefits the promotion of good books, further contributes to understanding and strengthens the cultural bridge.

The BIBF website has a section that shows the main Cuban publishing houses, emblematic titles such as 'Paradiso' by Jose Lezama Lima, and 'Jardin' by Dulce Maria Loynaz, among others.

It also contains photos, biographical profiles of several writers and prominent cultural figures, as well as articles and promotional videos on the fraternity between both socialist

States, literature and tourism.

This is the fourth time Cuba attends the BIBF. Its presence last year closed with important negotiations and contacts to expand the distribution of Cuban literature in China and globally.
