Havana, March 10 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez called to continue expanding social work in the community in the country to solve accumulated material problems and raise the spirituality of the people.

During a meeting on Wednesday to assess the comprehensive transformation of Havana's neighborhoods, the head of state commented that this year, compared to last year, there is more experience and a higher level of planning since the budgets for these tasks were already approved in January by the municipal assemblies of People's Power.

The President considered that although work is being done on infrastructure and accumulated issues, there is a lot of work to be done in the social and spiritual areas, including educational, cultural, sports, and recreational components, to promote healthy recreation.

The governor of Havana, Reinaldo García Zapata, informed that these works began in 67 neighborhoods of the capital last year and have been extended to another 60 in 2022.

During the meeting, ministers and entrepreneurs commented on the work carried out with local authorities and municipalities such as Regla, San Miguel del Padrón, and Centro Habana.

The Cuban President reiterated that the work in the communities is here to stay and must continue to be perfected while calling on all the country's managers to be in the neighborhoods and be aware of the problems of the population.
